GTA 6 already has more than 270 vehicles before launch, and the full garage is still unknown
More than 270 vehicles have already been identified in GTA 6 through Rockstar's trailers, screenshots and the recent Extended Look, according to fan-maintained vehicle databases. The figure covers cars, motorcycles, boats, aircraft and other vehicles visible in official material, and it has been reached before the game even launches on November 19, 2026.
Rockstar has never published an official total for the GTA 6 vehicle roster, so 270 is not a number coming from the studio itself. It is a count of vehicles that have been spotted and catalogued from material Rockstar has released. There are almost certainly more vehicles still hidden from view.
More than 270 vehicles have already been spotted in GTA 6
The number changed quickly after Rockstar released the 26-minute Extended Look on August 27.
Before that presentation, community databases had already catalogued hundreds of vehicles from the first two trailers, promotional images and other official material. The Extended Look added more traffic, new vehicles seen during missions and several details that were almost impossible to identify from shorter footage.
GTA Base's current database lists 272 vehicles identified from GTA 6 material as of August 30. Another tracker, GTA Intel, uses a stricter methodology and currently lists 198 vehicles as officially revealed. The difference tells us something useful: the total depends on what a tracker considers a distinct confirmed vehicle.
| Tracker | Current count | Method |
|---|---|---|
| GTA Base | 272 | Vehicles identified across official trailers, screenshots and Extended Look |
| GTA Intel | 198 | More restrictive list of officially revealed vehicles |
| Rockstar Games | No total published | Officially named vehicles and vehicles shown in promotional material |
For that reason, it would be wrong to write that GTA 6 officially has exactly 272 vehicles. What we can say is that more than 270 have already been identified by one major community database, while stricter lists count fewer.
The interesting part is not the number
A huge vehicle list is expected from a modern GTA game. The more useful thing to examine is what those vehicles tell us about Leonida.
Rockstar is showing a much broader mix than standard traffic. Players have seen sports cars, classic vehicles, motorcycles, trucks, emergency vehicles, boats, aircraft and off-road machines. There are also vehicles designed around the state's different environments.
The airboat is a good example.
Leonida includes marshes and wetland areas that would be difficult to explore efficiently with normal road vehicles. An airboat gives Rockstar a way to connect vehicle gameplay directly to that terrain.
The same principle applies to boats, dirt bikes and other vehicles shown in promotional material. They are connected to where the player is travelling rather than existing simply to make a garage larger.
GTA 6's vehicles cover much more than Vice City streets
Vice City is only one part of the game world. Rockstar's official material has also shown the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park.
That wider setting changes the role of transportation.
In a dense urban area, the obvious choices are cars and motorcycles. Outside Vice City, players can expect a much greater emphasis on boats and off-road vehicles because the environment is less dependent on traditional roads.
Rockstar has also used aircraft throughout GTA's history, and the trailers show that air travel remains part of GTA 6's vehicle ecosystem.
The result is a roster that can support different kinds of movement without forcing every part of Leonida to feel like another section of the city.
Cars are getting more detailed interiors
The latest footage also gives us a better look at how Rockstar is treating the vehicles themselves.
Cars have visible interiors, detailed dashboards and more convincing driver animations. Several vehicles shown in the Extended Look also have distinctive body shapes and interiors rather than looking like variations of the same generic model.
First-person driving returns as well, which makes those details more useful than they would be in a game that only allowed a distant third-person camera.
Rockstar has not published a complete technical breakdown of how every GTA 6 vehicle is modeled, so claims about individual systems should be treated carefully. What is clear from the official footage is that vehicle presentation has received a large amount of attention.
Some GTA 6 vehicles are returning models
The growing list is not made entirely of new designs.
Rockstar has brought back familiar fictional manufacturers and several vehicles that players will recognize from GTA 5 and GTA Online. Some models are clearly evolutions of previous designs, while others appear to have been redesigned from scratch for GTA 6.
That approach makes sense for the series. Fictional manufacturers give Rockstar a recognizable visual language across different games, while updated models can reflect the fact that GTA 6 takes place in a modern version of Vice City.
The returning vehicles also make the world feel connected to the wider Grand Theft Auto universe without requiring Rockstar to explain every car as something completely new.
Rockstar has already confirmed some vehicle names
The official website does not provide a complete GTA 6 vehicle catalogue, but it does name several vehicles directly in promotional material.
Among the vehicles officially named by Rockstar are the '95 Grotti Cheetah, Dinka Enduro motorcycle, Crest Kayak, Ganado Retro Build, Shitzu Squalo, '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and '55 Vapid Stanier.
Those named vehicles are only a small part of the total number visible in GTA 6. Many others have been identified by comparing badges, body designs and previous GTA models in the official footage.
That creates an important distinction for anyone building a GTA 6 vehicle guide: seeing a vehicle on screen confirms that Rockstar put it in the footage, but it does not necessarily reveal its exact fictional model name, availability or whether the player can own it.
The Ultimate Edition adds more vehicles to the list
Rockstar's Ultimate Edition promotional material also contributes to the vehicle count.
The edition includes additional content tied to Jason and Lucia's story, while the Vintage Vice City Pack includes the '55 Vapid Stanier.
This content is separate from the ordinary traffic players have seen around Vice City and Leonida. It is therefore useful to distinguish bonus vehicles from the regular vehicle pool when building a complete database.
The distinction will become even more important once players can actually purchase, steal or store vehicles throughout the game.
GTA 6 could have hundreds of vehicles without showing most of them
The current count is based entirely on material Rockstar has released before launch.
That means it is a floor, not a prediction of the final roster.
Rockstar has a long history of keeping vehicles hidden until players discover them in the world, and GTA 6's promotional campaign has shown only selected portions of Leonida. Traffic scenes can also contain vehicles that appear for a fraction of a second and never receive a close-up.
That makes the current cataloguing process surprisingly difficult.
A single frame may reveal only the front of a car. Another may show the side of the same model. A later screenshot can then confirm that it is a distinct variant rather than a different vehicle entirely.
That is one reason different databases produce different totals.
Why the vehicle count could keep climbing before launch
GTA 6 has more than two months of marketing time left before its November 19 release.
Rockstar may release additional screenshots, videos or trailers during that period. Each new piece of official material gives the community more vehicles to identify.
That creates an easy target for a living GTA 6 vehicle database. The list can be updated every time Rockstar reveals another car, bike, boat or aircraft instead of becoming outdated after publication.
For search traffic, that matters too. People looking for "GTA 6 cars," "GTA 6 vehicles list" or "every GTA 6 vehicle" are likely to return to pages that are kept current as new information appears.
Some vehicle details are still unknown
A visible vehicle does not answer every gameplay question.
We still do not know the final price of most vehicles in GTA 6, whether every model can be purchased, how vehicle storage will work across Jason and Lucia's properties, or how extensive customization will be.
Rockstar also has not published a complete classification system covering sports cars, SUVs, motorcycles, boats and aircraft in the way GTA Online does today.
Those details may arrive closer to launch or only after the game is released.
GTA 6's vehicle physics are getting attention too
The latest gameplay footage suggests Rockstar has continued improving its vehicle handling system.
Cars move with more visible body weight during turns, collisions produce noticeable changes in momentum and driving sequences show vehicles responding differently to surfaces and speed.
The footage does not give us enough information to judge the final physics model in every situation, but the handling shown so far appears less arcade-like than GTA 5's original driving system.
That fits the broader direction Rockstar has taken with GTA 6. Vehicle animations, character movement and environmental reactions are being presented as connected parts of the same gameplay experience.
Boats could become much more important
Vice City's coastal setting makes boats an obvious part of GTA 6, but Leonida's geography appears to give them a larger role than they had in many previous GTA games.
The Leonida Keys and wetland areas provide more places where water transportation can be useful instead of being limited to optional recreation.
The recent footage also showed water-based activities including kayaking and other forms of exploration. That suggests Rockstar wants water to feel like part of the playable world rather than a boundary around the map.
That approach could make boats a practical transportation option instead of something players use only for sightseeing.
Motorcycles have their own place in Leonida
Motorcycles remain a major part of the GTA vehicle lineup, and GTA 6 has already shown multiple types.
Street bikes fit Vice City's roads, while dirt bikes make more sense around rural areas and off-road terrain. Rockstar's footage includes both standard road travel and rougher environments where motorcycles can take shortcuts that cars cannot.
That creates another reason for players to keep different vehicle types available rather than relying on one favorite car throughout the entire game.
The biggest GTA 6 vehicle list will come after launch
Even a database with more than 270 entries cannot be treated as the final list.
Rockstar has revealed only a fraction of Leonida's complete contents, and there is no official vehicle catalogue covering everything that will be available on November 19.
The current community counts are useful because they let us track how much Rockstar has already shown. They are not a substitute for an official roster.
That distinction is especially important as more GTA 6 lists start appearing online. A page claiming "every GTA 6 vehicle confirmed" should explain exactly how its count was produced and which entries come directly from Rockstar material.
What we know about GTA 6 vehicles right now
| Detail | Status |
|---|---|
| More than 270 vehicles identified in community databases | Confirmed through catalogued official footage and screenshots, depending on methodology |
| Official Rockstar vehicle total | Not published |
| Cars, motorcycles, boats and aircraft | Shown in official material |
| First-person driving | Shown in official footage |
| Airboat | Shown in GTA 6 material |
| Named vehicles such as the '95 Grotti Cheetah | Officially identified |
| Complete final vehicle roster | Unknown |
Why GTA 6's growing vehicle roster matters
More than 270 identified vehicles would already give GTA 6 an unusually large catalogue before launch, but the exact total is less interesting than the variety behind it.
Rockstar is building transportation around a state that includes a major city, islands, wetlands, highways and rural areas. Cars dominate the streets, but boats, motorcycles, off-road vehicles and aircraft give players different ways to move through those spaces.
There is also plenty of room for the number to grow.
Every new trailer or screenshot can reveal another vehicle that nobody had identified before. By the time GTA 6 launches on November 19, the database built from Rockstar's official material could be considerably larger than it is today.
For now, the safest conclusion is simple: GTA 6 already has a huge known vehicle lineup, and we have still seen only part of Leonida.
